Tournament Rules
1. The Game
Each game shall be played between two teams of six players. A game consists of a maximum of five overs of six-ball bowled by each side.
2. Bowling
Each member of the fielding side shall bowl one over, with the exception of the wicketkeeper. All overs will be bowled from one end. Underarm bowling is prohibited. Bowler’s run-ups are limited to a maximum of 6 meters. The wicketkeeper must be nominated at the time of the toss. A different wicketkeeper may be nominated for each game but cannot be changed during the course of a game except suffering injury as mentioned under Rule 6.
3. Wide
A wide shall count as 2 extras to the batting side and an extra ball shall be bowled. Two lines shall be drawn, one at a distance of 60 cm on the off-side from middle stump and 45 cm on the on-side from middle stump. Any ball, which in the opinion of the Umpire, passes the popping crease over or outside these lines shall be called a wide, providing it does not touch the bat and/or any part of the striker. The ball shall remain live.
4. No Ball
A No ball shall count as 2 extras to the batting side and an extra ball shall be bowled. Runs scored from a No ball will be credited in addition. A ball that passes the batsman above shoulder height after bouncing, or above waist height without bouncing, shall be called a No ball. The front foot No Ball rule applies. A front foot No ball results in a Free hit for the facing batsman. The ball remains live after the call of No ball.
5. Last Man Stands
If five wickets fall before 5 overs are completed, the last remaining batsman shall bat on with the 5th out batsman acting as runner. The last batsman must always take strike. The innings ends at the fall of the sixth wicket.
6. Injuries
(a) If a fielder suffers an obvious traumatic injury, he will be allowed to leave the field for a maximum of 5 legitimate balls. A substitute will be allowed but may not bowl. If he does not return in time or time-wasting is suspected, Rule (b) applies.
(b) The player replaced may take no further part in the match.
(c) Other injury substitutions are allowed, but the substitute cannot bat or bowl. The opposing captain nominates who completes an injured player's over. A maximum of one wicketkeeper substitution is allowed per team per match.
7. Team on the Field
If players are missing at the start of the game, the side plays with those present. Opposing captain may nominate bowlers for the missing players’ overs. No bowler may bowl consecutive overs.
8. Squad
Each squad shall comprise a maximum of 7 players nominated before the tournament. Only those nominated can play.
9. Captain
One player from each squad is nominated as Captain. Captains are responsible for naming teams, keeping time, team conduct, and resolving disputes.
10. Timing
- Toss at least 20 minutes before scheduled start and submit team details.
- Opening batsmen and fielding team to be ready before previous game ends.
- Incoming batsmen must cross on the field with outgoing batsmen.
11. No-Show
Any team failing to appear at their appointed time will forfeit the game.
12. Disruption
In case of disruption (e.g. weather), final standings are based on overall run rate.
13. Umpires and Conduct
Umpire and Tournament Referee decisions are final. Misconduct will be dealt with by the Referee.
14. Rule Amendments
The Tournament Director may amend rules in the interest of the competition. Their decisions are final.
15. Points
- Team with highest score wins.
- If tied, team losing fewer wickets wins.
- If still tied, team with fewer extras wins.
- If still tied, team with most sixes wins.
- Run rate = total runs / legitimate balls received (or 30 if all out early).
16. Bowl Off
If unresolved by Rule 15 or in final match, a bowl-off is held: 5 players bowl alternately at stumps. Most hits wins. If tied, sudden death continues in the same order.
17. Length of Innings
Each innings shall last a maximum of 25 minutes.
18. Toss
Toss for the first match of the day to be done 30 minutes before start or before the previous match ends.
19. Point Scoring System
Each team earns match and performance points. Final rankings after preliminary rounds are based on the Points Table to avoid ties.
